MCP tools: remote-core
remote-core
Registered when: always (any key; ticket file tools require TICKET_FILES_ENABLED, default ON).
archive_issue
Archive an issue -- hides it from default board/list views without changing its status. Use after close_issue_wont_fix/close_issue_done to actually clear it off the working board. Reversible: see unarchive_issue.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
issueId | string | yes | Issue id (uuid) |
reason | string | no | Optional short reason, recorded on the archive action |
Example call:
{"name":"archive_issue","arguments":{"issueId":"<issueId>"}}
Related: list_issue_pipelines, get_issue_pipeline, create_issue_pipeline, update_issue_pipeline, delete_issue_pipeline, reorder_issue_pipelines, reassign_issue, get_issue.
attest_mission_verification
Append a passed/failed verdict for a completed verification mission. GoodQA recomputes mission status, step outcomes, required evidence, and signer authority; client-supplied evidence is never accepted. operationId is required and caller-generated: retain it before the first call and reuse it after any uncertain response.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
issueId | string | yes | Issue id (uuid) |
missionId | string | yes | Completed verification mission id (uuid) |
verdict | "passed" \ | "failed" | yes |
note | string | no | |
operationId | string | yes | Required caller-generated retry id; reuse it after any uncertain response |
Example call:
{"name":"attest_mission_verification","arguments":{"issueId":"<issueId>","missionId":"<missionId>","verdict":"passed","operationId":"<operationId>"}}
Related: list_mission_verifications.
bulk_update_issues
Apply close_issue_wont_fix, close_issue_done, or a plain status change to many issues in one call -- the aggregate for board cleanup/triage sweeps instead of one tool call per issue. Each item posts its own note as a comment (if given) then sets status. Returns one result per item (ok/error), so a single bad id never aborts the rest of the batch.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
items | object[] | yes | Up to 200 issues to update in one call |
Example call:
{"name":"bulk_update_issues","arguments":{"items":[]}}
Related: list_issues, search_issues, find_issues_by_reporter.
call_api
Escape hatch: call any GoodQA REST endpoint directly, under this credential's own existing permissions — nothing more is granted than the curated tools already have access to. Use for anything not covered by a named tool above. Path is relative to the API root, e.g. "/v1/projects//test-plans".
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
method | "GET" \ | "POST" \ | "PATCH" \ |
path | string | yes | e.g. "/v1/projects//issues" or "/orgs//members" |
body | object | no | |
approvalId | string | no | Server-issued requester approval for this exact method, path and body; never a model approval boolean. Read the action card for any human edit before retrying. |
Example call:
{"name":"call_api","arguments":{"method":"GET","path":"<path>"}}
close_issue_done
Close an issue as done/shipped -- use ONLY with real evidence the fix is actually live (a deployed commit, a direct production check), not just that code was written. Defaults status to "on_production" (this product's convention for "verified live" -- a dev deploy alone does not resolve an issue). Posts note as a comment with that evidence in the same call.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
issueId | string | yes | Issue id (uuid) |
note | string | yes | The evidence this is actually done (commit sha, what you verified and how) |
status | "on_production" \ | "done" | no |
Example call:
{"name":"close_issue_done","arguments":{"issueId":"<issueId>","note":"<note>"}}
Related: list_issue_pipelines, get_issue_pipeline, create_issue_pipeline, update_issue_pipeline, delete_issue_pipeline, reorder_issue_pipelines, reassign_issue, get_issue.
close_issue_wont_fix
Close an issue as "wont_fix" -- for anything confirmed NOT going to be worked (superseded, out of scope, a stale/duplicate premise, a board being retired). Different from close_issue_done: this says the work will not happen, not that it already happened. Posts note as a comment in the same call so a close is never unexplained.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
issueId | string | yes | Issue id (uuid) |
note | string | yes | Why this is wont_fix -- required |
Example call:
{"name":"close_issue_wont_fix","arguments":{"issueId":"<issueId>","note":"<note>"}}

body | string | yes | Comment text (markdown); may be empty with files |
attachmentIds | string[] | no | Completed uploads to claim with the comment |

fetch_issue_full
Fetch everything about one issue in a single call: the issue, one bounded comment page, and its attachments. Continue comments.nextCursor with get_issue_comments to read the whole discussion -- the aggregate for "read before I triage this," instead of get_issue + get_issue_comments + get_issue_attachments as three round trips.

find_issues_by_reporter
Find every issue a specific person reported in a project -- the tool for "what did Tisha/Ben/ actually report," instead of paging list_issues by hand. Pass reporterId directly, or reporterEmail/reporterName to resolve it via list_org_members first (exact match; errors if zero or more than one member matches so you never silently query the wrong person). Includes every status and archive state by default -- "what did this person report" should mean everything, not just what is still open.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
orgId | string | yes | Org id (uuid) -- needed only to resolve reporterEmail/reporterName |
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) to search within |

Example call:
{"name":"forget","arguments":{"scope":"org","key":"<key>"}}
generate_test_plan
Generate one durable AI test-plan operation. Persist a UUID before calling and reuse that same operationId after any timeout, disconnect, or 5xx; never mint a replacement UUID for a retry. A running result can be read with get_test_plan_generation.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
operationId | string | yes | Required caller-owned UUID, persisted before dispatch and reused for every retry |

get_direct_messages
Get the DM history between the caller and one other org member, newest page first. Each message carries authorLabel (who actually wrote it: a person, "Claude (bot) on behalf of ", or " (API key)"); senderId is always the accountable human, so read authorLabel to tell a person from a bot acting for them.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
orgId | string | yes | Org id (uuid) |
userId | string | yes | Other member's user id (uuid) |

get_issue_by_number
Get an issue by its human-facing per-project number — the "#42" people, commit messages, and other agents actually reference. Use this instead of guessing a URL when you have a number rather than a uuid; get_issue takes a uuid.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
number | integer | yes | Issue number within the project, e.g. 42 |
Example call:
{"name":"get_issue_by_number","arguments":{"projectId":"<projectId>","number":1}}

get_issue_comments
Read one bounded page of an issue discussion (100 by default, at most 200). Pass nextCursor back as cursor with the same order/archiveState to reach every comment. order=desc starts with the newest page; each page is chronological. Optional commentId resolves an exact canonical source pointer; anchorId opens a page at that comment. hasMore explicitly reports whether another page exists in the requested direction; issue.commentCount is the issue total. Use to catch up or read back a new comment.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
issueId | string | yes | Issue id (uuid) |

Related: list_project_members.
get_recent_changes
Poll one org for new tickets, ticket comments, project chat messages, status changes, and archive/unarchive events since a timestamp (or since a previous cursor) -- for a bot that wants to notice "what changed" without re-fetching everything. Optionally narrow to specific projects with projectIds, or specific kinds of change with actions. | Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
orgId | string | yes | Organization id (uuid) |
since | string | no | Only changes at or after this instant (ISO 8601, e.g. from your last poll). |

cursor | string | no | Pagination cursor from a previous response -- pass the last response's nextCursor to continue where you left off, repeating since/until/projectIds/actions UNCHANGED alongside it. Dropping since while paging with cursor lets you walk past your original window once newer rows run out. |
limit | integer | no |
Example call:
{"name":"get_recent_changes","arguments":{"orgId":"<orgId>"}}
get_secret
Reveal a secret's PLAINTEXT value by name. Only succeeds if you have view access on that specific secret (its own scope + grants, resolved exactly as the vault UI does) — every call is recorded in the vault's access log, whether it succeeds or is denied. Never use this to enumerate what secrets exist — use list_secrets for that (metadata only).
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
scopeType | "org" \ | "project" \ | "user" |
scopeId | string | no | Org or project id (uuid) — required for scopeType org/project, omitted for scopeType user |

store_secret
Store a secret in the vault (org or project scope — NOT personal/"user" scope, which no API key can reach, see scopeType). If a secret with this name already exists in the scope, its value is rotated (updated) rather than creating a duplicate — this is an upsert. Requires vault-manage permission on the scope to create a new secret, or manage access on the existing one to rotate it.

surface_apply
Apply a surface patch (surface.apply) — the SAME full payload as surface_propose, re-validated for real (never trust an earlier propose response). At user/view scope, writes immediately and returns the applied patch. At org/project scope from someone without authority, WRITES NOTHING and instead returns {status:"needs_decision", decisionId} — a real decision (an approval request people answer); call this again with that decisionId once it is approved, or use call_api to POST /v1/decisions/{id}/respond if you hold the authority yourself. Never told to apply directly at org/project scope without the human's explicit go-ahead — "propose -> preview -> apply" is a hard rule, not a suggestion.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
screen | string | yes | |
scope | object | yes | Write/read scope: {type:"user"} for yourself, {type:"project"|"org"} for the shared default (may require approval — see needsDecision in the result), {type:"view", id} for one of your own saved views. |
ops | object[] | yes | Array of ops, e.g. [{"op":"show","node":"..."},{"op":"hide","node":"...","tier":"T3"}] — see surface_read's node ids and surface_explain for what is actually moldable. |
rationale | string | no | |
source | "wizard" \ | "agent" \ | "user" \ |
decisionId | string | no | An already-approved decision id authorizing this exact scope+ops (from a prior needs_decision response) |
Example call:

Related: surface_read, surface_explain, surface_intents, surface_diff, surface_propose, surface_reset, surface_profile_read, surface_profile_propose.
surface_diff

screen | string | yes | |

surface_explain

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
screen | string | yes | |
nodeId | string | yes | |
mode | string | no | |
density | "calm" \ | "focused" \ | "dense" |

surface_intents
List the default intent taxonomy plus this screen's manifest-declared intents (surface.intents()). These are starting suggestions: surface_profile_propose also accepts custom string keys with weights in 0..1 inclusive.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
screen | string | yes |
Example call:
{"name":"surface_intents","arguments":{"projectId":"<projectId>","screen":"<screen>"}}
Related: surface_read, surface_explain, surface_diff, surface_propose, surface_apply, surface_reset, surface_profile_read, surface_profile_propose.
surface_profile_propose
Set the intent profile at a scope (surface.profile.propose) — weights accept custom string keys in 0..1 inclusive. PUT replaces the entire profile at the chosen scope: omitted keys are removed from that scope's weights; omitted weights/hidden become {}/[], and omitted density/device clear that layer. Read surface_profile_read before writing and send the complete desired profile to retain values. The read layers other scopes; replacement does not erase inherited values. Same authority rule as surface_apply: an org/project write from someone without authority returns {status:"needs_decision", decisionId} instead of writing.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
scope | object | yes | |
weights | object | no | Complete replacement weights for this scope: custom string keys, each value in 0..1 inclusive. Omitted keys are removed; omitted weights become {}. |

hidden | string[] | no | |
device | "desktop" \ | "phone" | no |
decisionId | string | no |
Example call:
{"name":"surface_profile_propose","arguments":{"projectId":"<projectId>","scope":{}}}
Related: surface_read, surface_explain, surface_intents, surface_diff, surface_propose, surface_apply, surface_reset, surface_profile_read.
surface_profile_read
Read the merged intent profile (surface.profile.read) — weights/density/hidden layered platform→org→project→user for this project. After replacing one scope, values inherited from other scopes can still appear here.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
Example call:
{"name":"surface_profile_read","arguments":{"projectId":"<projectId>"}}
Related: surface_read, surface_explain, surface_intents, surface_diff, surface_propose, surface_apply, surface_reset, surface_profile_propose.
surface_propose
Dry-run a surface patch (surface.propose) — returns the diff and any violations, WITHOUT writing anything. Always call this before surface_apply and show the rationale/diff to the person you are acting for; never apply on their behalf without them seeing this first.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
projectId | string | yes | Project id (uuid) |
screen | string | yes | |
scope | object | yes | Write/read scope: {type:"user"} for yourself, {type:"project"|"org"} for the shared default (may require approval — see needsDecision in the result), {type:"view", id} for one of your own saved views. |
ops | object[] | yes | Array of ops, e.g. [{"op":"show","node":"..."},{"op":"hide","node":"...","tier":"T3"}] — see surface_read's node ids and surface_explain for what is actually moldable. |
rationale | string | no | One-sentence reason, shown to the person approving/reviewing this change |
source | "wizard" \ | "agent" \ | "user" \ |
Example call:
{"name":"surface_propose","arguments":{"projectId":"<projectId>","screen":"<screen>","scope":{},"ops":[]}}
