GoodQA Chrome extension
Capture browser bugs with the GoodQA Chrome extension. Browser Control requires your explicit permission. Desktop pairing requires the GoodQA desktop app and its native helper. Agent access still requires your approval for the selected sites and session.

Install in Chrome (developer mode)
- 1Download the ZIP and extract it into a folder you will keep.
- 2Open Chrome and enter chrome://extensions in the address bar.
- 3Turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner.
- 4Click Load unpacked and select the folder containing manifest.json.
- 5Open GoodQA from Chrome’s Extensions menu. Sign in for capture. In GoodQA desktop, choose Enable remote for my agent, leave Use my Chrome checked and choose Allow. Select this Chrome profile, then click Connect to desktop on the page the desktop opens.
Chrome will show a debugging permission warning. Browser Control starts only after your consent. To stop it, use Stop Browser Control in Options or Ctrl+Shift+K (Mac: Command+Shift+K). Manual installs do not update automatically: download the next ZIP, replace the folder’s contents, and click Reload on chrome://extensions.
Desktop app
Full-screen capture on your OS
The desktop app records your entire screen — beyond a single browser tab — for native apps, multi-window flows, and system-level bugs. Start from a GoodQA mission or issue to attach the recording there, or use the native capture chooser for a screenshot or recording and file a brand-new ticket with attachments, environment metadata, and an optional AI-generated mockup.
Platform versions can differ because installers are published separately. Each download below shows the version of that installer.
Linux
Portable AppImage. Download, mark it executable (chmod +x), and run — no install required. A .deb is available for Debian and Ubuntu.

Running the Linux AppImage
- 1Download the AppImage and rename it to
GoodQA-linux.AppImage. - 2Make it executable:
chmod +x GoodQA-linux.AppImage. - 3Double-click it (or run it from a terminal) and sign in to start recording.
Verify the publisher and download
GoodQA release builds for Windows and macOS are code-signed, and both macOS disk images are notarized and stapled. Download only from this page and confirm the address is goodqa.app before you open the file.
Windows should show publisher Eric MacDougall. macOS should report a notarized Developer ID application from Apple Team 2GS4QBP9ZR. If the publisher is missing, the signature is invalid, or macOS reports an unidentified developer, do not continue — contact support@goodqa.app.
For extra assurance, each build above lists its SHA-256 checksum. Run sha256sum <file> (Linux/macOS) or Get-FileHash <file> -Algorithm SHA256 (Windows PowerShell) on the file you downloaded and compare it against the value shown — a mismatch means the file was tampered with or corrupted in transit, and you should not run it.
